The
Buck Hill Art Association is dedicated to fostering, inspiring
and promoting an appreciation of all aspects of the cultural arts
in the community and maintaining the traditions or our past linked
with the opportunities of our future.
We
strive to achieve this mission by supporting art instruction in
Camp Club, teaching classes in the arts, holding exhibits and
concerts. We award scholarships to students in the area. We maintain
a collection of art purchased over a period of years for the enjoyment
of Buck Hill residents and guests. To achieve these endeavors,
we hold a variety of fundraisers with the goal of a stable fund
base. We rely on volunteers in the community to help us carry
out our goals, hopes and dreams for the future of the Buck Hill
Art Association.
The 67th annual Buck Hill Falls Fine Arts & Crafts Festival
will be held Friday, July 20 and Saturday, July 21, 2012 from 10 a.m to 4 p.m.
New this year, there will be a prize for Best in Show of $250, a $100 prize for Best Painting and a complimentary 2013 indoor space for Honorable Mention.
Also, we have a very special incentive to increase sales on Friday evening: Buyers will have the opportunity to participate in a raffle that will provide a pool of $250 toward the purchases they make that evening. This is a donation from the Art Association.
The proceeds from the Festival are used to provide scholarships
to students who are pursuing degrees in the Arts. The Art Association
also sponsors various arts related programs in local schools and
in the community at large.
We
will host our evening preview party and art judging on Friday,
July 20th. All pieces will be displayed in one location for the
judging portion of the evening. This will allow a more streamlined
judging process.
We hope that you will join us as a participating artist in the
2012 Buck Hill Fine Arts & Crafts Festival.
If you have any questions or thoughts about the festival, please
feel free to contact me at the below email and phone numbers.
We look forward to hearing from you.
Sincerely,
Judy Snyder
