Tai
Chi and Qigong are related arts characterized by slow, gentle
movements. By taking this class, you will be able to enhance your
quality of life, improve physical health, and increase mental
awareness and sense of serenity. Balance and coordination are
greatly improved. No special clothing or equipment is required…AND
these practices can be done almost anywhere!

Janet will again be teaching the American version per
National Mah Jongg, Inc. A growing number of people are realizing
the intellectual challenge Mah Jongg poses and the beauty of the
game itself. Take time to learn this exciting and stimulating
game. The cost of the class includes a set of Mah Jongg playing
cards for each pupil. After the classes, you will be able to continue
playing without the tiles!

a camera that can be used manually and a separate flash unit.

Megan Leblond will be instructing us again this year! She obtained
her fine arts degree in sculpture from Southern Illinois University
& has recently received her art education teaching certificate.
Register early for the opportunity to enrich your creative spirit
and to complete four different projects with Megan!
We are also
delighted that both John James and Jill Swerzie are returning
to instruct us in the mediums of oil and watercolor painting.

Back by popular demand! On the first day of the two-day workshop,
participants will model a 3-dimensional flower of their choosing.
The method for creating petals will be demonstrated. Bring an
image of your favorite flower. On the second day, you will use
under-glazes to create lustrous color on your flower sculptures.

Serving platters can be playful or elegant. In this class
you will design our own platters or creative serving dishes using
a slab technique. Glazes and modeling techniques will be used
to invent beautiful and unique tableware. Oven safe terra-cotta
clay or decorative stoneware will be available. Create a sensational
serving platter or fashion a creative baking dish. The possibilities
are endless.

Wall Panel Relief Workshop

Using an ancient technique of relief and a thin clay
slab, we will create charming wall hangings. Recreate a favorite
photo or drawing using a demonstrated template technique or work
“freehand” drawing directly into the clay. Step outside
of the square format and embrace clay’s volume and versatility.

Create Your Own Vessel

Vessels have described cultures across time. Create your
own vase, wine jug, bowl, basket or ornamental bottle using the
coil and slab techniques demonstrated in class. Learn how to model
beautiful and decorative handles for your pieces. Students will
also adorn their objects with decorative methods including: sgraffito,
relief and additive techniques. Come create a beautifully personal
functional vessel!
